Commensurate with our business, commercial, and corporate law experience, our firm maintains a robust fidelity and surety practice. We are effective in handling a broad range of issues, which arise under payment, performance and fidelity bonds. Our attorneys regularly represent sureties, principals, and obligees in bond disputes involving:

  • Miller Act bonds
  • Minnesota state public bonds
  • Private statutory bonds
  • Common law bonds
  • Fidelity bonds
  • Performance bonds
  • Payment bonds

We have the ability and experience to handle a wide range of issues in this area of law such as coverage interpretation and defenses, bad faith claims, demands for payment, extra-contractual liability, demands for performance, and delay claims. We advise our clients in the preparation and negotiation of contractual agreements unique to the surety arena, including subordination, control, takeover, and completion agreements. At all times, we attempt to protect our corporate clients by formulating creative, cost-effective solutions to complex bond disputes.
